Family Nativity!

We celebrated Christmas with the Welch family on Monday night, we had the traditional nativity scene presented by the kids. all the adults watch and sing hymns and read scriptures at the appropriate times, while the kids are dressed in towels, sheets, and bathrobes. We don't want anyone to feel bad about not playing the role they wanted so anyone can be whatever they want.

This year we had 3 Mary's, 4 wise men (one of which ran around and ended up on the ground crying and kicking his legs), 1 Joseph who pulled faces the whole time, and a multitude of angels. This is the scene I've been a part of every year, and this is what inspired my little nativity scenes.

I have another finished. This one was requested by my Aunt Lynette. Their costumes are more elaborate than others. I had a lot of fun making this one. Lynn and Lynette are the greatest and I was so happy to do this for then!

Nativity II

It is finished! This Nativity was requested in the Summer by my great friends the Merrills- and they finally have it!

This is a nativity of little kids putting on a "bathrobe" nativity, they are little kids in costumes. The face of Joseph is one of my favorites, he's just so content and chill, while Mary is worried about the crying Baby

Give Art

Give someone some ART for Christmas!!
You wont believe the response these guys make. I have some already made with prices reduced for the season (Ballerina, Kai, and Prince Jaloux). For special orders of Joque in the Blocks and other ordering info. please email me at welchaddison@gmail.com

NEW Little Christmas ELF

$35.00

This little guy is brand new, he is only about 3 inches tall. He stands on his own and his limbs are slightly poesable. His face hands and shoes are made from polymer clay and his clothes are custom made by me from an old christmas ornament.

Ballerina

$120.00

The ballerina. She is now completed and is in full dancing costume. complete with tutu and tiara. With her scrunched face, snaggle tooth, odd shaped body, and big feet it may seem weird to some that she's a ballerina, but she proves strength in following your dreams no matter what.
she is about 14 inches tall- more if you count the hair and hat

KAI

$110.00

Kai started out as a girl, but his face looks like he's saying "Dude!!" So his hair was cut into a craz messy Mohawk.
The bottom picture is to show the detail of his feet. Kai is about 12 inches tall, and stands on his own. Everything about him is original- swim suit, shark tooth necklace, anklet, shoes, etc...
He is for sale!

Prince Jaloux

$120.00

Prince Jaloux was inspired by the art of James Christensen. The guy behind the painted face is an actor playing Prince Jaloux, a part written and played by Moliere. Prince Jaloux is free standing at 13 inches. He is a pure sculpt original figure. Face, hands, feet, and cane are made out of prosculpt clay, face and feet were painted after baking. I had lots of fun making his eccentric cosume which was made for him and is attached. He is for sale

Christmas!

I've been living in Montana all summer doing 2 shows a night at the Playmill theatre of Footloose, the Secret Garden and Guys and Dolls. It has been a great experience. But I haven't had a camera. On Sunday we celebrated Playmill Christmas- it was Christmas to the max we had a huge Christmas dinner, sang carols, we had stockings, opened presents, etc. Roger and Heidi Merrill who own the theatre and run it all up here are very generous, they are such great people and I love them so much! They gave me a very nice camera for christmas! So now I can take pictures of what I have been working on this summer during some of my free time.

W.I.P

Work In Progress! This is currently who I'm working on. the picture is the same guy from two different angles. He reminds me of some of the Cajun men (and women) that I met in Louisiana. I'm excited to see what it becomes!

-More pics under ballerina

Tinker bell

I played a pirate in Peter Pan at the University and we were asked by the director to have a neverland box with treasures we found from the island. I made this sleeping "tinker bell" fairy for my box. she's small, under 3 inches, so ok, she is the smallest to date. her whole body is clay, it was my first attempt at a whole body. she has wings made out of transparent clay.

Nativity

mary

joseph
baby
Here is my nativity! I gave it to my Grandma Sheri for Christmas, she helps with some funding for my artistic endeavors, and most importantly supports me in all of this. I love her, so she had to have this

Mary started off as being a witch (hence her bulging eye) but, as with all my people, she became what she wanted. I like her childish expression about the crying baby. She is 7 inches tall, the baby is 5 1/2 inches. I have been in many "bathrobe" Christmas pageants before and this shows exactly what it's like. Joseph's big pouty lip and blank stare just came on their own as well. He is 9 inches tall

Xerxes

$100.00
SOLD
Here is number 2 of the "joque in the blocks" series. Xerxes is a little bit smaller than Joque, I like his smile. maybe 3, 4, and 5 will come later...

my number ONE

$55.00
SOLD
This wise old guy is my very very first attempt, and the smallest of creations to date. I'm not sure what his name is. His face is very sweet, and knowing. he only sits at under 5 inches. He is "pure sculpt" Everything about him is original from hair to clothes.

THE WELCOMER

$150.00
SOLD

I call this guy "the welcomer" because that's what he looks like he's saying. He stands about 101/2 inches tall. He is free standing, and all limbs are bendable. His clothes are original and made for him. All of my people are Pure Sculpts meaning that no molds are used and are original pieces that are one of a kind. He was the first one of this size I ever made.

About Me

Hi, I'm Addison- I am an artist. I create things. I hope y'all enjoy my work. I get in different grooves of what motivates me to create, recently it's been sculpting "art dolls." I'm not sure what to call these little guys yet.
